HIGH-END Sydney car dealer Trivett hosted quite a bash for the launch of its new flagship model, the Bentley Brooklands.

An ultra-exclusive invitation list feasted not only on champagne and canapes but gorged their senses on the arresting sight of the 5.4-metre Brooklands in all its glory.

There was more, with every guest departing with a "best of the best luxury showbag" containing, among other things, a $200 men's shirt, a $100 cocktail-bar voucher, a $170 perfume and $250 anti-ageing formula, plus chocolates and mineral water.

The Brooklands, named after the British racetrack in Surrey where Bentleys raced with success in the '20s, has already sold out its first year of production.

Orders are still being taken, albeit up to a strictly limited lifetime production run of 550 vehicles.

For a sticker price of $693,000 you get a coach-built body housing the most powerful Bentley V8 engine ever made, producing 395 kW and an astonishing 1050 Nm of torque.

Interior touches include leather everywhere - including the door-panel linings and headliner - hand-sewn and sourced from the hides of 16 cows; power-adjustable front and rear seats; lush carpeting; and chrome gauges.
